About Us

Glenwood School is a Community Special School maintained by the Local Authority. It caters for up to 220 learners between three and nineteen years of age. It is a co-educational school for learners with severe or profound and multiple learning difficulties. Approximately 60% have a diagnosis of autistic spectrum disorder and approximately 30% have significant physical and/or sensory impairments.

Glenwood School offers a personalised approach to learning and life opportunities, respecting and valuing the individuality of every learner.

We aim to provide all learners with the tools and core competencies that they really need to enjoy a meaningful adult life.

"One parent wrote, ‘My child is valued. My child loves attending this school and smiles when he sees his teachers. Since being at this school, he has come on in leaps and bounds'."
